About Peak Locating
Built on time in the field
Peak Locating Inc. is a utility locating and damage-prevention company based in Leduc, Alberta. It is built on the more than 20 years of industry experience our team brings from utility, pipeline and private-infrastructure locating.
Why Peak Locating exists
More than twenty years in the industry show the same pattern: most locating problems are not equipment problems. They come from rushed work, unclear marks, facilities nobody was accountable for, and records that did not survive past the end of the job.
Peak Locating was built to do the fundamentals well — trained locators, clear marks, honest reporting — and to add what the industry has often been missing: documentation that lasts.
Experience across the ground
Our team’s experience spans utility locating on urban construction sites, pipeline and right-of-way work on oil and gas projects, and private infrastructure on commercial, industrial and rural properties. Each has its own hazards, standards and expectations, and each shapes how we plan and carry out work.
Where we work
Peak Locating is based in Leduc, Alberta, just south of Edmonton. In Alberta we have field capability in the Edmonton and Calgary regions and mobilize to projects throughout the province, from urban construction sites to rural leases and rights-of-way. Locate services are also available in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia, with scope confirmed for each project.
Modern positioning, practically applied
RTK/GNSS positioning and digital field documentation let us capture what was located and give clients a record they can use in later phases of work. We adopted these tools because they solve a real problem in the field — not to change what a locate is, but to make its results last longer than the paint.
Operating philosophy
How we work, and why it matters to clients
-
Damage prevention first
A locate exists to keep people safe and infrastructure intact. Everything else — speed, paperwork, technology — serves that.
-
Field accountability
Locators own their work. If something could not be located, it is reported and documented, not left for the excavator to find.
-
Better documentation
A locate should leave a record that is complete, readable and useful after the paint fades.
-
Practical technology
We adopt positioning and digital tools where they improve the result for the client, and keep them in service of the field work.
